Our Story & History
GOOD COMMUNICATION as the Basis of Every Business
ABBA Communication began as a department of Interbiz Systems. On May 29, 2004, it was established as an independent corporation so that it could develop its own specialized areas of work apart from its parent company.
Since then, we have continued to grow, not only in scale but also in the range of fields we have been able to enter. Translation, interpreting, publishing, education, and international communication may appear to be different forms of work, but all of them begin with the same question: how can one person’s meaning reach another person faithfully?
We do not believe that human work should compete with machines by becoming more mechanical. Technology may support our work, but judgment, responsibility, understanding, and conscience remain human tasks.
Abba, a biblical word for addressing God as Father, conveys both closeness and reverence. It reflects the spirit of communication we value: professional and responsible, yet warm, attentive, and deeply human. We aspire to be more than a language agency—to serve with trust, care, and faithfulness, giving thoughtful attention to every message entrusted to us.

1997 – 2007
- Served as a contracted vendor for patent-related projects for Thomson Scientific, U.K.
- Selected as a core vendor for IBM Korea in the collateral and business communication field.
- Conducted website localization projects for Dassault Systèmes.
- Established a contractual partnership with Korea ISIS, an IBM business partner.
- Served as a contracted provider for Sogang University Translation Center.
- Selected as the dedicated translation provider for the United States Forces Korea Base Relocation Project Office.
2008 – 2014
- Served as a contracted vendor for Hewlett Packard.
- Served as a translation and interpretation vendor for United States Forces Korea in Yongsan.
- Selected as the translation provider for ISO and IEC international standards in the nuclear power field for KEPCO Engineering & Construction.
- Developed and operated General Electric Korea’s intensive English Boot Camp for senior staff.
- Translated Sejong Korean materials into English, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Russian.
2015 – 2020
- Served as the Korean partner of ITL AG, Germany, for localization projects.
- Managed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s national forum on library development.
- Translated KOFAC’s STEAM education resources into English and presented them at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
- Translated the IFEZ Journal and IGC Journal.
- Translated and published Exploralab for the National Science Museum.
- Provided simultaneous, consecutive, and relay interpretation in English, French, and Russian for World Bank-related programs.
- Translated braille-related materials for the National Institute of Korean Language.
2021 – 2025
- Led the organization and operation of an in-house translation team for Hyundai Mobis.
- Launched a distribution business for domestic and international edtech platforms, including service as the Korean distributor for Capstone Interactive digital library programs and other overseas edtech solutions.
- Launched an end-to-end content commercialization business, covering translation, publishing, sales, and overseas export for selected content projects.
2026 –
- Launched a professional training business for Korean literature translators, focusing on translation quality, international publishing, and global readership.
- Established a K-culture content and product promotion/export business targeting international markets.
- Built and operated an Amazon-based global sales channel for Korean books, K-culture products, and K-food products.
